Foundation Max van der Stoel is looking for 2 interns for Africa Day 2020!

What does this position entail?
You will assist in the organisation of the Africa Day. This means that you will help with the content preparation and organisation of various workshops and debates, liaise with cooperating organisations and speakers, help with the design, contribute to the website and promotion of the Africa Day, and collaborate in setting up the cultural programme. After the Africa Day, you will have the opportunity to organise a (smaller) public meeting for the FMS, where you will independently put into practice the knowledge you have gained in the previous months.

The period is from (preferably beginning) January 2020 to June 2020. Exact start and end date will be determined in consultation. You will work four days a week (28 hours) at our office in The Hague.

The FMS is looking for someone who:

• has demonstrable knowledge and/or affinity with regard to international cooperation, with knowledge of Africa being an advantage
• can work independently in a busy environment
• has an interest in Dutch politics and policy regarding international cooperation
• is creative and stress-resistant
• Help make Africa Day 2020 a success!

What do we offer?
A nice collegial working atmosphere, good supervision and the freedom to put your own ideas for workshops, debates and the culture programme into practice. You will gain experience within a political NGO, get to know development organisations and get to know Dutch and European politics better. The internship allowance is €375 per month, provided you are enrolled at a Dutch higher education institution. Otherwise, a (lower) volunteer allowance applies.
