The time has come! Today, FMS researcher Anne travels for the research project 'Migration: African Perspectives' of the FEPS and FMS to Ghana to spend a month researching the migration motives of African youths. What role does migration play in their lives? What policies can be put in place to give young people more prospects in their own countries? And how do these young people envision their future, in Ghana or beyond?
Anne speaks in Ghana with young people, potential migrants, returnees, African policymakers, NGOs, local politicians and trade unions, etc. Because, only if we really know the motives for migration can we work on policies that reduce irregular migration or enable legal migration routes.
