The FMS is a key partner of a coalition of civil society organisations within 'Democracy under Threat'. In this coalition, we cooperate with PAX for Peace, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), Foundation More Democracy, Transparency International NL and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), among others. This initiative aims to prevent further deterioration of democracy through public events, news coverage, and projects aimed at social awareness. By doing so, we want to improve democracy at home and abroad and put pressure on Dutch and European governments to consider an inclusive process of innovation and renewal within our democratic institutions.
The 'Democracy under Threat' coalition has formulated a manifesto on behalf of Dutch civil society. It contains recommendations for the Dutch government on how to strengthen democratic institutions and practices both in the Netherlands and abroad.
