The FMS is a key partner of the coalition of civil society organisations within the Dutch Democracy Coalition (NDC). In this, we cooperate with PAX, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), Stichting Meer Democratie, and The Hague Academy for Local Governance, among others. This initiative aims to prevent further deterioration of democracy through public meetings, news coverage and projects aimed at social awareness. By doing so, we want to improve democracy at home and abroad and put pressure on Dutch and European governments to think about an inclusive process of innovation and renewal in our democratic institutions.
The coalition has formulated a manifesto on behalf of Dutch civil society. It contains recommendations for the Dutch government on how to strengthen democratic institutions and practices both in the Netherlands and abroad.
