As world leaders prepare to meet in The Hague for the NATO summit in
2025, we call for a balanced vision of peace and security. A vision that includes human
central.

At a time when the focus is increasingly on defence and military preparedness,
we urge equal and sustained attention to and investment in long-term
work of building resilient, inclusive and just societies. This is
no substitute for security. It is its foundation.

We invite all individuals and institutions working for a more just and
more peaceful world to endorse this declaration and build together a
future in which peace is not only protected but also cultivated.
