Twice a year, in spring and autumn, we offer internships. We are also frequently looking for volunteers, for example for our annual Africa Day.
We currently have 1 vacancy:
Are you interested in politics and international cooperation between Europe and Africa? Do you want to develop your skills in policy drafting, lobbying and advocacy? And would you like to join an active group of youth representatives who share your passions and interests?

I have never learnt so much in such a short space of time as I did during my placement at the FMS. As a Democracy intern, I was drawn into the wide-ranging and important work carried out by the FMS from the very first minute; from collaborating with partners abroad, to attending and helping to organise conferences and networking events in Brussels and beyond, to writing articles and organising webinars on current affairs in countries across Europe. Thanks to this placement, I have made significant strides in terms of both my knowledge and my network ready To working life!

During my work placement, I learnt an awful lot about the day-to-day running of an international foundation and was able to gain experience in many different areas: from organising events and writing articles to political monitoring and helping to draft lobbying campaigns. As an intern, you’ll receive excellent guidance and become part of an enthusiastic and close-knit team. There’s also plenty of scope to shape the placement yourself and get to grips with the issues that interest you. I’d definitely recommend it!

At the FMS, as an intern, you are fully included in the work and supervised incredibly well. As a result, you not only learn a lot, but you also hardly feel like 'just' an intern. You are given many responsibilities and can work independently. Especially as a change from studying, this internship is highly recommended. You get a lot of practical experience and learn how to apply knowledge!

During my internship at FMS, I was able to learn an enormous amount. From writing articles to organising political cafes, everything was covered. As an intern at FMS, you are really part of the team and get involved in everything. As a result, you gain a lot of work experience. Because I was given a lot of freedom in my work at FMS, I now know better where my interests lie!

My internship at the FMS has given me an enormous amount of knowledge and experience in a relatively short time. From writing and publishing articles to valuable experience in organising events. At work, I was given plenty of space to contribute personal ideas and was also well supported and trusted with every task. The team at FMS clearly has heart, is motivated and welcomes you with open arms!

I have learned an enormous amount at the FMS! You are included in the organisation from day one, are given a lot of responsibility, with good support, and there is a lot of freedom to immerse yourself in topics and areas you find important and interesting. You are close to politics so no day is the same. In addition, this team makes you feel right at home!

I learnt an awful lot during my FMS internship. On the one hand, you gain an enormous amount of knowledge about the countries we work in. On the other hand, you also learn a lot on a practical level. You are given a lot of freedom to come up with your own ideas and develop in areas you consider important. You are fully part of the team because of the pleasant cooperation and good atmosphere.

The FMS is a smooth and super motivating working environment, but also very sociable. This internship is a great opportunity to learn a lot in terms of content and practically about development cooperation and the development work of the FMS. I felt involved and taken seriously, which made me feel at ease and enabled me to learn a lot.
