FMS on Africa Day!

In a few days' time, it will be the Africa Day. Have you bought your ticket yet?

Together with our partners, it will be a jam-packed day with sessions on a variety of topics. As FMS, we are also organising three substantive sessions ourselves. And of course we will be at the inspiration market all day, so come along, On the Rotunda, to find out even more about us.

Climate justice in Africa: a call for action (Round 2 - Boardroom)

Although African countries have contributed the least to climate change, they are the hardest hit. Meanwhile, the biggest decisions are made by the countries experiencing the least impact. THIS MUST CHANGE! During the Africa Day, we will discuss this with Fred Ochieng (Director Africa, Ripple Effect), Mohammed Chahim (Labour Party MEP), Anne van der Meer (Senior policy officer, Foundation Max van der Stoel) and with YOU! Come to our English-language session Climate justice in Africa: a call for action. Click this page to buy your ticket!

Spokespeople debate: Rutte IV's policies and the Africa Strategy (Round 1 - Tropentheatre)

This summer, the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation will present her new policy and, later this year, a broad Africa strategy. What is important in the new development cooperation policy? And how do we ensure that Dutch-African cooperation becomes equal? Come to our spokesperson debate and hear how Joris Thijssen (Labour Party), Tom van der Lee (Green Left), Alexander Hammelburg (D66), Jan Klink (VVD), Sylvana Simons (At1), Marieke Koekkoek (Volts) and Christine Theunissen (Labour Party) think about this! African votes in municipal councils (Round 3 - Emma Hall)

During the last municipal elections, more councillors of African background were elected than ever before. This moves ever closer to genuine representative democracy. A nice development. What do these new councillors want to contribute, and how does their background play a role in this? We discuss this with Amsterdam city councillors Milka Yemane (Green Left), Carla Kabamba (Bij1) and party chairman of the Labour Party Esther-Mirjam Sent. Click this page To buy your ticket!
