Come too! Political Café: Solidarity with Ukraine

Register here: https://forms.gle/zDAJonTXkdhSF5F76

Just under three hours' flight from the Netherlands, a particularly brutal war - the Russian invasion of Ukraine - is still raging, but after a year and a half of war, support for the Ukrainian struggle is still widely felt in the Netherlands. However, from several countries in the west, pressure for support for Ukraine seems to be increasing. In this political café, we discuss the importance of Dutch and European support for Ukraine, also with a view to the future. With elections in the Netherlands and Europe looming, what are the biggest challenges? We do so with Kati Piri, Iryna Shulikina, André Gerrits, Nicolaas Kraft van Ermel, and others, among others.

We highlight the situation in two panels. First, the experiences from Ukrainian civil society after a year and a half of war are discussed. What are the consequences, both for the diaspora and in the country itself? Why is it so important that support from Europe remains strong at the time of this brutal invasion? In the second part, we discuss how this support and solidarity can persist in a sustainable way in the Netherlands and Europe. What aspects of support are currently underexposed? What did the Netherlands' role as a forerunner of support mean? What are the challenges to Ukraine's EU membership and what challenges are there in the EU itself to remain united in supporting Ukraine's struggle?

For answers to these questions and many more, we welcome you to our political café! Register now via this link: https://forms.gle/zDAJonTXkdhSF5F76
