I am Annelou Snippe, I am 22 years old and I am currently doing an internship at the FMS as an intern "Communication & Events." I graduated in the summer from Leiden University College The Hague, where I completed my bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences in World Politics, with a focus on international history. During my studies, I was very active for the European Youth Parliament, where I did PR and organised events for a year, among other things. After my studies, I didn't really know what direction I would like to take, except that I would like to do something with international politics. When I saw the FMS internships coming along, I immediately knew it would suit me. Because of my experience in PR, I applied for the internship communication & events. Would you also like to do an internship at the FMS? Then check out our vacancies here!
At the FMS, I was immediately seen as part of the team and within the first week I wrote an article for the FMS website. As a result, I soon felt at home. As a communications & events intern, I participate in many different parts of the FMS. I manage the social media, I send out the monthly newsletter, I write articles for the European Forum, I collaborate on the online magazine of the Climate Justice project and I am on the communications team of The SDG Spotlight Report, to which the FMS contributes through the Building Change partnership. I also help organise and promote all kinds of online events. I personally really enjoy being involved in such a variety of projects and I also get to spend time on the ones I find most interesting. Despite working from home for most of my internship, I had a lot of contact with my colleagues. I buzzed, phoned, emailed and texted with colleagues every day and therefore still had a lot of contact with them.
I would definitely recommend this internship to anyone with broad (political) interests and also likes social media!
Come do an internship at the FMS! Apply for one of the three vacancies here before 9 December.
