Nothing has been heard of them since then. Their disappearance, and that of Yuri Zakharenko and Dmitry Zavadsky, is commemorated annually on 16 September in numerous cities and countries.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle2\">In 2008, four oaks were planted in Eindhoven and a memorial stone placed to commemorate these disappearances. At the time, Eindhoven still had a city link with Minsk, the capital of Belarus. For the relatives, this has become a unique place to commemorate the disappeared men. Also because Belarus still lacks freedom.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle2\">In February 2016, the European Union lifted sanctions against 170 people from Belarus. Except for those held responsible for the disappearances, including President Lukashenko.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">This year's commemoration will take place on Monday <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">16 September 2019, 15:30 - 16:30, Paradijslaan, Eindhoven <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(corner Frederik van Eedenplein).\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Valeriya Krasovskaya (<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">We Remember), <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Mary-Ann Schreurs <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(councillor Eindhoven municipality), <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Christie Miedema <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(Amnesty International) and <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Arjen van Halem <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(FNV) will speak.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Jessica Bartels <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(Eindhoven city poet) recites a poem she wrote especially for this\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">opportunity wrote, <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Leo Mesman <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The poem \"four men\" which is also on the memorial stone\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">state. Traditionally, it will be framed by a musical contribution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The first 10 years of commemoration have produced many telling photographs and poems.<br \/>These have been compiled into a <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">book <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">which was presented after the commemoration<br \/>will be.
